Burwood Brickworks is a masterplanned community in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs built with sustainability in mind. The precinct covers approximately 18 hectares and includes housing, recreational amenities, retail, entertainment and hospitality spaces and even a rooftop urban farm.
Advanced Lighting Technologies supplied exterior lighting solutions from Cree Lighting for a variety of area lighting applications at Burwood Brickworks. The Cree Lighting XSPM Series was installed along the shared path/bike network that winds its way throughout the estate, while the Cree Lighting OSQ Series was supplied to illuminate a private roadway servicing the shopping centre.
Both lighting solutions were designed to achieve compliance with the relevant Australian Standards for roads and public space lighting (AS/NZS 1158.3.1), while the pathways and connecting elements were also designed to comply with the Australian Standard for obtrusive light (AS/NZS 4282).
WARM & WELCOMING
The use of warm correlated colour temperatures (3000K) along Burwood Brickworks’ shared pathways ensures a pleasant experience while creating a sense of safety that doesn’t overwhelm or dazzle with glare.
DESIGNED TO COMPLY
Where applicable, the pathways and connecting elements were designed to achieve compliance with AS/NZS 1158.3.1:2020 (Subcategory PP4 & PP5 or PE2 & PE3) and AS/NZS 4282:2019, while the private roadway (completed earlier) was designed to comply with AS/NZS 1158.3.1:2005 (Subcategory P2).
SUSTAINABLE & STURDY
With elements of sustainability, and the combination of clever lighting design and strategic luminaire selection, residents and visitors to Burwood Brickworks will be enjoying quality illumination for years to come.
